If you have followed me for any amount of time, then you know how much I struggle with producing quality images. I have been wanting to get Adobe PhotoShop for a long time. Of course, I'll be honest, this is one program that terrifies me. It seems overly complicated to use when you first open it up.

When I first opened Adobe PhotoShop I looked at it in wonderment. I have seen so many things that my fellow bloggers have done with Adobe PhotoShop Elements through the years with envy. (Truth be told I still do, but not for much longer.)
I decided to take a copy of the opening screen when you open it up.
Not as Frightening
After being able to attend a webinar with a bit of an introduction to the new Adobe PhotoShop Element 14, I'm not quite as afraid as I was before. I found out that there are MANY automatic settings that I can use to edit images. There is also a wide range of tutorials already on the market for Adobe Photoshop. I am going to dive into those when I get my unlimited internet (provided it truly does come here.) A fellow blogger recommended The Photoshop Elements 14 book by Scott Kelly to help me learn more about it.

As a part of this campaign, I was encouraged to edit a photo to show you how Adobe PhotoShop Elements 14 can fix the photos with ease. I decided to take a simple photo and edit it for you. The changes aren't much different, but for me, I think it's pretty cool.

I take thousands of photos each month. Maybe more.
There's something about a photograph that touches my heart. When my mom passed away I realized a few things, one of which was that we didn't take enough pictures.
This fact makes me ache inside. I only have a few photos of my mom and I together, just us as grownups. Of course, moms tend to stay behind the camera – a lesson I have learned from and now that I have a daughter of my own, I make sure that I'm in as many of the photos as I can be……even on those bad hair days, even when I'm in my pajamas, and even when I'm not feeling that photogenic.
I think we all started to take more photographs when everything went digital. We could SEE the photograph we were taking and that was amazing. We weren't wasting film and spending money on photographs which were blurry anymore.
Ah, those blurry pictures.
Even with our smartphones being our camera of choice these days, blurry pictures are often what we get.

As a blogger, I am used to editing photos. Some days it seems like it's all I do. But I wouldn't say I'm a pro at it by any stretch. I think I take pretty great photographs, especially after some lessons with an amazing photographer. But there are still some photos I tend to just delete instead of edit. It seems easier to take a better photo instead of working on the bad photo.
So, though I'm more than just a casual picture taker, I still feel like I needed software that was easy to use and sometimes guided me when I needed help.
That's why Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 was just for me….and you too, no matter your skill level.
I knew it would be great (I've heard of friends who use it)……but what I didn't expect was to be blown away!

But let me show you a few examples of how I've been using it this week, starting with the most basic:
LIGHTING – I've had issues with lighting for years. In fact, so many of our baby pictures are just horrible (not the cute, adorable baby, but the shadows and lighting). I've never known what to do with them, but now I can fix them. Do you know how happy that makes me? I was always so upset that I didn't have great candid shots of her when she was crawling and walking and doing all her 'firsts'…….now that can change!
Here's an example of poor lighting at a blogger event here in Dallas with a star of Sprout – Nina!
I opened up Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 and with just a few clicks it would give me a preview of different things it could do to make the photo better. On the left is the original. On the right is after one click under 'Lighting – Shadows'. You can actually see her face now.
This is such a basic edit and so needed! No need to worry about shadows and lighting anymore!
But my mind was about to be blown away………….
Particles 2 2 3 – create professional cocos2d particle emitters. Why was I blown away?
Well, you know that as parents we try to capture that perfect picture. Whether it's the kiddos in front of Cinderella's castle or a family photo at the park. AND….there's always that person who walks in the background ruining your perfect photo.
No worries anymore thanks to Adobe Photoshop Elements 14.
Seriously!
Look above at this photo I took of my daughter during her swim lessons at SeaWorld. She was posing with her two instructors. There was a sidewalk in the background and wouldn't you know just as soon as I took the photo, a lady carrying her child walked right behind.
See her?
And with the magic of Adobe, she's not there in the photo on the right. The before and after shots!
The technique is a tool called the Healing Brush and it's fabulous!
Here's another example of that tool…….
Sometimes it's easy to crop people out of a photo, right?
Like in this Captain Hook photo from Disneyland, I could easily crop the woman out of the photo. But…….there's a man just beyond Captain Hook's shoulder that would still be seen.
So I used the Healing Brush tool to make the man disappear! How cool is that? Adobe photoshop cc 2018 download full version. You might also notice that I brightened up the shadows in the picture (you can see the difference in the big rock formation).
All that with a few clicks!
